Agenda Items:
1.
Discuss results of Field Mapping “Task 1.” – Joint
Staff/Delorenzo Inc.
Reese
indicated the completion of Phase 1, to identify the principal trails both
north and south of the Sweetwater River between I-5 and I-805. The proposed
trails all fell on public land and do not cross privately owned land. He
presented a map showing areas of varying constraints, and indicated possible
problem areas with yellow tags. In designating the trails, the firm strove for
the best possible user experience, to identify optimal trail routes first, and
then worry about constraints. Other projects focus on the constraints and place
the trails in less desirable settings.
Willett
raised a concern, stating that the trails indicated would not be available
year-round.
2. Review draft agenda of
OVRP Trail Master Plan Community Meeting
An agenda
was drafted. Rushlow stated that Trails Sub-Committee members give an
introduction. Discussion will include history of the project, purposes of the
committee, and opportunities and constraints of the project. The community will
be invited to share its comments.
3. Discuss next TSC field
mapping task – Joint Staff/Delorenzo Inc.
Reese
stated that the next field-mapping task would involve fine-tuning the previous
field trip. Walk and flag trails.
Karen
Smith mentioned that a number of “outlaw” trails existed in the park and
indicated how people “vote with their feet” to determine where trails go.
4.
New Business – Joint Staff.
Policy
Committee will meet on 4/3/03, to review the status of the various projects.
A more
